THE 313 TEAM

Irvine Welsh
Irvine needs little introduction. A cultural icon, best known for his 1993 debut novel ‘Trainspotting’ which was adapted into a film of the same name (both highly acclaimed and considered cult classics), he has also written multiple books often being adapted for screen – such as ‘The Acid House’, ‘Marabou Stork Nightmares’, ‘Filth’ and ‘Porno’. Irvine left Edinburgh for the London punk scene in 1978, and has always been involved in music. In 2025, his latest book ‘Men In Love’ was accompanied by an album of the same name, a journey through classic Motown, soul, and disco influences, reimagined and supercharged with modern electronic production. With lyrics penned by Irvine himself, brought to life by the enigmatic Sci-Fi Soul Orchestra and featuring the powerhouse soul vocals of Shaun Escoffery and Louise Marshall, the music is the flip side of the narrative.

Steve Mac

They soon had some big remixes of artists like Michael Jackson, INXS, Todd Terry, Carl Cox and David Morales – to name just a few of the 300 or so artists they remixed – and became one of the biggest acts DJing in the UK house scene. After scoring big hits of their own, the Rhythm Masters split in 2002 to pursue solo projects, and Steve became a stalwart of the house scene – producing multiple hits of his own, and remixing scores of others.
